Service to the Institution

In addition to teaching, personal work, and research, I regularly work to support the mission, students, and faculty of KCAI. Much of this is in collaboration with entities across campus such as Academic Affairs, Student Advisement, Marketing, and others.

Student Support:

  • Student advising – Act as an informal student advisor, especially regarding technology needs, interactivity, and and industry demand. I work with students in my own courses as well as those from other programs looking for additional help in circuitry, coding, audio/video manipulation, and general critique. This has greatly expanded the use of technology in artwork being created on campus as a whole. (Ongoing)
  • Facilitated four student internships for students
  • Facilitated Teacher’s Assistant position  (2016)

 

Other:

  • Interactive Arts Major Evaluation – Conducted an internal report combining data on the major’s positive influence on students, the institute, and community as well as shortcomings and areas for improvement (2018 – 2019)
  • Product Design Program Evaluation – Participated in discussions regarding creation of Product Design program, in conjunction with Graphic Design faculty and EPC (2015 – 2018)
  • Library – Assisted librarians in cataloging and selecting materials for purchase and circulation to support Interactive Arts program and students (2014-current)
  • Viewbook – Volunteered drone photography for viewbook and other promotional materials (2017)
  • Irving Infill – Participated in developing layouts, technology needs, and drone videos for architecture firms  (2016-2017)
  • Master Plan – Volunteered drone photography and video services for internal and external use (2015)
  • Beals Studio technology consultant – Collaborated with Larry Dickerson and selected faculty and staff to select equipment and services (2015)
