My name is David Steele Overholt and I grew up in Bethany; a suburb of Oklahoma City.
In 2000 I went to school in San Diego, CA where I studied Graphic Design and formed a small new media design company.
Desiring to use computers in new ways, I moved to New York City in 2007 for three years to continue schooling and work.
In 2010 I moved to Kansas City where I taught for 10 years at the Kansas City Art Institute. During this time I taught in the Foundation School, Digital Media, Graphic Design, and founded the school’s Interactive Arts Major.
I currently run the studio ENTERACT in Kansas City, KS and teach as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
My main areas of research and academic focus are interactive design, design thinking, new media applications, emerging technologies, rapid prototyping, usability testing and experience design.
I was married in 2015 at Kaw Point Park on the banks of the Missouri and Kansas River.
Our son, Steele, was born in 2019.
We have two cats, and a dog named JPEG.
