Netvibes has released a new version of their online webtop software called Ginger (I have no idea why it’s called Ginger). As far as I can tell this is Netvibes’ attempt at a singularity web presence. It’s also set up as a semi-social network where you can have “followers” that keep up to date with your site. I have my own site that I’ve set up simply for a hub for my contact information, but Netvibes original purpose of being - an online desktop for checking e-mail, to-do lists, links, RSS feeds, etc. is much more practical. I suppose it would be useful for people that don’t have their own web domain…
