Department website facelift

newitp.pngITP’s website got a facelift. From a site that used to be entirely Flash (not searchable) with awkward navigation to a text and image only site (should be searchable…) with more up-front news and a clearer set of our areas of focus, it is a much needed overhaul. Everyone has their own opinions on the site (no doubt we’ve been hearing those on the student list) but it’s still being flushed out, so I won’t go deep into any of the flaws. Except for a few blips (currently the large background images are either far too low resolution or need to be far lower resolution to be an obvious aesthetic decision and the front page still needs some attention to blend with the rest of the site) I think it’s going to do a really good job of its purpose.

What we do around here is hard to pin down (and we wouldn’t have it any other way), but I think they’re definitely trying a bit too hard with the front page description by adding in ambiguous terms like “augment” and “bring delight”. Why not a simple description like “ITP is a two-year graduate program in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts dedicated to exploring interaction with technology, art and design.”…?
