Show and Tell Project

Project Direction

Working Elevator Pitch:
A monitor-less physical touchscreen with accompanying display monitor that is customizable for learning, presentation, and exhibition displays.
Currently I’m focusing on young children and business to show its range and flexibility.

An intuitive physical-to-digital surface with accompanying software: a system of display board and magnetic* place-markers connected to a display monitor set up for an exhibit, with the ability to be reused and reconfigured in the future using supplied software.

Timeline:
October 21: Today - Present Direction of Idea
October 28: Tested 3 sensors

November 4: Tested 3 more sensors + decide on route + construction
November 11: First Prototype + Testing
November 18: Working on customizing software + construction
November 25: Second Prototype Promo Video
Decmeber 2: Documentation + Finishing + Website
December 9: Last Day - New Version: Pinformation v2.0
Perhaps entered in Winter Show: perfect prototype testing environment

Focus:
After researching I’ve found I don’t have the tools, money, experience, time, etc. to make the fully flexible board I want, so I’ll focus on getting the concept of flexibility and customization (both in hardware and software) to a place where I can sell/receive funding

Considerations:
focus on multiple people
where’s the video/gui?
where’s the user?
where’s the board?
can I move the board real-time?
how do people re-use?
what should be permanent?
where’s the focus - on the board? on the monitor?

Presentation:
New board + monitor (showing concept, not as many touch-points needed of done correctly)
Select 3-5 boards: (3 for kids, 2 for other)
promo video
website
booklet of other options for people to flip through
